• Oracle WebTier 11g Configuration for ADF 11g Applications. Oracle Web Tier description - Oracle Web Tier includes components that interact with end users at the outer most tier of application grid infrastructure typically through HTTP requests and responses. Oracle Web Tier hosts web pages (static and dynamic), provides security and high performance along with built-in clustering, load balancing and failover features. It sounds like this Oracle Fusion Middleware product can improve ADF applications performance, especially on public internet. Typically ADF applications are coming with significant amount of Java Script and skin images - Rich Client, so let's see how Oracle Web Tier components (HTTP Server and WebCache) can help us.

  3. SOA Composite application (C) to orchestrate business flow based on data from Business Event. Application (C) integrates Business Rule, Human Task and Web Services

• Business Rules in Oracle Fusion 11g. Today I'm writing my fourth post in Oracle SOA series and will cover Business Rules functionality. I recommend to check my previous post - Business Events and ADF Business Components in Oracle Fusion 11g, sample application I'm describing today is extended version of application from my previous post. What Business Rule means? Simply speaking, its a container that encapsulates specific functionality logic. In Oracle SOA Suite 11g, Business Rule accepts inputs and returns outputs. This means we can understand Business Rule as a black box in general process flow. This black box can be reused and updated at any point of time, without affecting other components in the flow.

• Oracle ADF Tuning: Preventing SQL Query Execution on Page Load. While tuning Oracle ADF application in our team (check: Milkbird), we have discovered extremely good approach for application tuning on page load time. You can read about this problem in my previous blog post as well - Improving Performance in ADF Applications - Page Load Time in CRUD Forms. Main idea of tuning approach is to prevent default query execution on page load and do it as easy as possible. We have achieved this by invoking executeEmptyRowSet() method for master View Object before opening page itself. We are performing invocation from Method Call activity in ADF Task Flow.

My today post sample application is based on mentioned blog posts. • Service-Enabled Entity Objects in Oracle Fusion 11g. In Oracle Fusion 11g, JDeveloper provides great support for Application Integration Architecture (AIA) through Service-Enabled Entity Objects. It allows to build Enterprise Composite Applications (ECA) in Oracle ADF. Developer now can implement Entity Objects directly based on View Objects from remote application, exposed through Web Service. This means we can expose and consume Web Services on Model level using ADF Business Components, this gives more centralized integration approach. Its especially important for AIA, when building ECA. For more info, please read Section 11.3 Accessing Remote Data Over the Service-Enabled Application Module from Oracle Fusion Developer Guide. In this post I will describe some tips and tricks from my experience.

(3) Will create BPEL composite, this composite will be subscribed to raised event and will route process according Human Task outcome. Today I will cover first step from my plan and will define Web Service interface for custom methods based on ADF BC Application Module. • Improving Performance in ADF Applications - Page Load Time in CRUD Forms. This February I was blogging about how to improve performance in Query type forms - Improving Performance in ADF Applications - Page Load Time in Query Forms. It came time to revisit this topic again, and describe performance tuning in CRUD type applications. Especially, because Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 1 became available this week. In this release runtime performance improved significantly - Oracle ADF 11g Release 1 - Runtime Page Load Performance Improved ! We are able to run our forms against large data sets without any delay, as it was before. In this post I will describe one of potential designes, how CRUD type applications can be implemented, in order to minimize performance overhead completely.
